3MBS Young Performer Awards

On Sunday 29th October, 3MBS conducted their 28th annual young performer awards at the South Melbourne Town Hall in front of a dedicated audience of fine music lovers.

The three finalists Kim Falconer (Flute), Charlotte Miles (Cello) and William Soo (Piano) had reached the state final after being selected from many hundreds of performers across Victoria's music festivals.

Each performer offered a selection suiting their talents which made the judges decision extremely difficult.

The winner of the Audience prize - Charlotte Miles said "I am so proud to have been chosen for this award - I love playing music and love my cello - thank you"

The overall winner William Soo, was delighted to have been selected by the judges and felt humbled at his achievement. He said "what an honour to have won, I am looking forward representing Victoria in the nationals in four weeks time."

The awards were presented by Freemasons Foundation Director Mr. Barry Minster, who was amazed by the musical talent on show.

Freemasons Victoria through the Freemasons Foundation supported 3MBS fine Music with the provisioning of the prize money totalling $13,000 each year.

The Freemasons Foundation have supported this annual event for the past two years and have a commitment to do so until 2017.
