On Friday 1st March, FFV hosted a lunch for the 1889 Bequest Society. At the event, FFV Chairman Garry James announced that since November 2014, the Foundation has granted an impressive $20 million towards charitable projects.
Adding to the celebration was an inspiring speech from Gina Dougall, CEO Banksia Gardens Community Services, recipient of a FFV Community Grant. Gina spoke to the room about building the organisation over the past 22 years, about giving and being in service to others.
"I poured all my energy, dedication, service and love into making it a grassroots organisation where local people came and felt they belonged and could get help."
We also heard from past Patron Rosemary Evans, Chairman Garry James, Deputy Chairman Philip Mayers and FFV volunteer Michael Halls in the role of MC.
It was a pleasure to welcome nine new members to the Society, most of whom were in attendance. These new members were presented with special items as tokens of appreciation for their generosity and support.
